Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Investment
Canada has signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on investment promotion and co-operation agreements with the following economic partners:
These agreements are in recognition of the benefits derived from increased two-way investment and represent Canada's commitment to facilitate information exchange, as well as foster, encourage, and support two-way investment flows, with a view to bringing success to businesses, and prosperity to both partners.
Memorandum of Understanding(MOU) on Two-Way Investment Promotion Cooperation with China
The signing of the MOU on Two-Way Investment Promotion Cooperation between the Investment Promotion Bureau of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada (DFAIT) and the Investment Promotion Agency (CIPA) of the Ministry of Commerce of China (MOFCOM) was signed in Xiamen, China on September 9, 2006.
Purpose of the MOU is to identify areas of cooperation on two-way investment promotion; work in close partnership toward broadening and deepening investment ties; and, stimulate business activities between enterprises in the two countries.

Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Investment
The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding of Bilateral Investment Promotion between International Trade Canada (ITCan) and the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) in Toronto on May 27, 2005 is a direct result of the Prime Minister's visit to Japan in January 2005.
During this visit, the Prime Ministers of Canada and Japan agreed to develop an innovative Canada-Japan Economic Framework Agreement of which two-way investment is a key component. This MoU represents a mutual commitment to work together to facilitate information exchange, as well as foster, encourage, and support two-way investment flows, with a view to bringing success to businesses, and prosperity to both countries.
